Schott jackets (Perfecto, 618, 613, 118, and other models) are made from thick aniline leather (typically steerhide or goatskin) that develops a unique patina over the years. The goal of restoration is not to “make it like new” — that would kill the vintage soul — but to preserve the aged character while repairing critical wear and strengthening the material.

Basic Care (Refresh)

• Cleaning & conditioning — replenishes moisture and oils, eliminates dryness.

• Light buffing and removal of surface dirt.

Full Restoration (recommended for heavy wear)

1. Deep Hand Cleaning — removes dirt, grease, salt stains, and old wax coatings.

2. Scuff & Scratch Repair — fills damage with compounds formulated for thick aniline leather.

3. Color Restoration — matches the original Schott shade (black, brown, burgundy, navy). Water-based dyes won’t stiffen the leather and preserve its softness.

4. Vintage Patina Preservation/Creation — we can leave noble wear marks or fully refresh the color — your choice.

5. Seam & Zipper Repair (if needed) — reinforces loose stitching, installs original zippers (or high-quality equivalents).

6. Final Conditioning — restores elasticity and a light natural sheen.
